Felicity has been working with the voice for over 25 years.
Having studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Joy Mammen
and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Peter Harrison,
she emigrated to the USA to live and work. Returning to the UK in 1988,
Felicity discovered Jo Estill’s research and eventually studied with Paul Farrington after doing the 5-day training.
Since that time Felicity has also undertaken an intense 4 year course
in Energy Therapy which included, Core Energetic Bodywork,
Reichian Character Structures and other psychotherapeutic skills.
She is also an advanced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner.
Her current work is a synthesis of these varied approaches,
combining a strong foundation in classical and traditional music
with more experimental and psychospiritual orientations.
It is unique and transformational for many who engage with her in this process.
Thus she now sees herself as a Voice Therapist as much as a Singing Teacher.
Recently Felicity has become the Vocal Coach
for Universal Music's new gorgeous and talented girl group, ALL ANGELS.
Felicity is also Vocal Advisor to
The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain,
University of Cambridge Musical Theatre Society,
and Cambridge and Peterborough Youth Choirs.
She is a Singing Teacher at Trinity College and Clare College, Cambridge
and has a varied private practice ranging from Soul to Operatic singers.
She also takes medical referrals from Addenbrookes
Speech and Language Department.
Felicity currently uses her voice
in Experimental Music, Jazz, Blues and Classical.
In addition, she works with it in Sound Healing and Sacred Sound.
Testimonials
I have had the pleasure of working with Felicity for ten years now. When she first joined us as a singing teacher for the National Youth Choir of Great Britain she was known to us already as a teacher with a fine reputation for her work in Cambridge colleges and for her special gifts in dealing with students as individuals and helping them find not only their voice but also their expressive personalities.
Felicity has served us outstandingly not only as a teacher of individuals on NYC courses but as an inspiration to larger numbers through her masterclasses and workshops. Felicity has a unique approach which taps into the spiritual centre of singers. She works kinaesthetically on the production of sound, and his a vast store of imagery which she uses to draw pictures through singing. She is very popular with members of the choir, and achieves remarkable results in a short time during courses.
As one of NYC’s two singing consultants Felicity has helped us towards a clear philosophy which avoids prescriptive methodology and draws on common sense and flexibility to serve each individual within a structured framework.
We are delighted to have her as a crucial senior member of the teaching team.

Conductor of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain
Felicity is an inspiring presence in front of young singers, and no doubt singers of all degrees of experience benefit from her gift of communicating quite advanced technical ideas in a comprehendible, passionate and compelling manner.
To anyone looking to benefit from a vocal coach I wholeheartedly and unreservedly commend Felicity Cook.

Conductor and National Adjudicator

Felicity has an awesome power which, together with her solid technical know-how and vast experience, she uses to enable her students to open and engage with potential that they previously had no access to. The more willing and courageous the student is to enter into this process of transformation and integration with themselves, the more effective Felicity can be. However, she has a special way of putting you at ease and creating a safe and protective environment. Through this work with Felicity, I have experienced repeated and dramatic breakthroughs in my singing which are a testimony to her conviction that there is an inextricable connection between the voice and the person as a whole. Her work bears this out time and time again.

You have given me so much. I went home last night and clarified a lot. I sang in the Church and found a very powerful place between an imaginary audience and God.... You have opened up great and unafraid communication in my voice. Thank you.
